The St Ives Netball Club

Our philosophy is to ensure that every player feels valued and empowered through their participation in netball, regardless of age or skill level.

The St Ives Netball Club offers teams for players aged 5 through to Masters (35+). We welcome boys aged 5 to 12, and provide opportunities for players to learn umpiring from the age of 12. We also encourage coaching from the age of 16 and up. Our club actively supports parent coaches, including fathers, and offers courses and mentorship for less experienced coaches to help build strong, effective coaching across all teams. All coaching roles are filled by volunteers.

At St Ives, quality coaching is a key focus. We believe that players can only reach their full potential with the guidance of skilled coaches, so we encourage all coaches to attend training courses and continue expanding their knowledge.

The St Ives Netball Club is part of the Ku-ring-gai Netball Association (KNA), which is recognized as one of the top sports associations on the North Shore. KNA includes 18 clubs and over 3,600 members from the Ku-ring-gai/Hornsby region.

Proof of Age

Player age for the season is determined based on the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). For example, if a player turns 10 at any time during the year, they will play in the 10s division. All new players under the age of 18 may be required to provide proof of age.

Our Commitment to Netballers

At St Ives Netball Club, we are committed to:

  • Respecting, valuing, and encouraging all players, regardless of age or ability, to help them reach their full potential.
  • Supporting and developing coaches to build their skills, confidence, and coaching abilities.
  • Supporting and developing umpires to enhance their skills, confidence, and decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate and fair grading procedures, with detailed season reports for every junior player and during grading day.
  • Fostering a friendly, competitive, and inclusive netball community, where players, coaches, and parents work together to make the club a success.

Parents and Players’ Commitment to Saints

When registering for St Ives Netball Club, all players and parents are expected to:

  • Attend all weekly training sessions.
  • Stay informed by reading emails, checking the website, and following our Facebook page.
  • Inform the team manager in advance if a player will be absent.
  • Wear the full club uniform to all games and events.
  • Volunteer a minimum of 1.5 hours per season per child to help run our club.
  • Maintain positive behaviour at all times, as outlined in the signed Code of Behaviour.
  • Understand that the club is entirely run by volunteers, and that your involvement helps provide a cohesive and competitive environment for all players.

We are a community-driven club, and your active participation is key to our ongoing success!
